The CoLocators began as a solution to a simple question
faced by every information technology head: "Where can I find an impartial
source of knowledge that can help guide me in my need to reduce costs while
improving system availability, reliability and security?"
Having spent a number of years building disaster recovery plans and co-locating
web and data systems for companies that he had worked for, founder Ed Rozendaal
decided to take the knowledge and experience that he, his associates and his
partners had amassed and make it available to companies of all sizes.
Co-location, data centre outsourcing and disaster recovery planning are not simply exercises in moving and connecting hardware between two or more points. They are each highly complex operations that require months of preparation, systems engineering, networking and communications technology experience. In addition, they demand detailed and closely focused project management, and experience in information technology process re-engineering.
